Dear Arizona Soccer Club Families,
Arizona Soccer Club is committed to the health, safety, and well being of our soccer players and families. We've been closely monitoring the latest developments with regards to the coronavirus, or COVID-19, as well as leveraging our local and national partners to follow best practices to ensure the continued health and safety of our players. Today the Arizona Soccer Association (ASA) announced the cancellation of all remaining ASA managed events. This includes all remaining games in the Arizona Federal Advanced Leagues, Open League, Whataburger Spring Academy Festival, and the College ID Camp. The ASA also recommends that all local clubs suspend training, games, or events that promote any level of "close contact" between participants.
The Arizona Soccer Club Board of Directors has decided to follow the recommendation of the ASA and, effective immediately, will suspend all office, Grass Roots Recreational, Competitive, TOPSoccer and training activities for a period through March 29, 2020. Additionally, other clubs/tournaments may be cancelling events. Please check with your coach or team manager for additional updates.
At this time, the ASA is expecting that Presidents Cup and State Cup will be played as currently scheduled. Arizona Soccer Club will continue to monitor developments of the COVID-19 virus over the coming weeks and communicate with our families accordingly.
We recognize the impact that missed training sessions and games will have on our teams but given the current state of uncertainty regarding the COVID-19 virus, we feel that following the recommended measures provided by the ASA and other Arizona sports organizations is the best course of action for Arizona Soccer Club. We appreciate your continued support and understanding at this time.
Sincerely,
Chris Meador
President, Arizona Soccer Club
